Hunting (in season)
Ecological Hunting is performed only in season and is facilitated by our PH.
Prices and availability vary each year as we do not hunt for sport, but for maintenance purposes only.
Contact André our PH for more information.

Lodge
This communal area is very much enjoyed by our guests and offers a space to unwind and relax. Sit in front of a roaring fire, read a book, stream a show or just enjoy the sunlight shining in through the windows.
This is a communal area with shared TV access (DSTV and streaming services).
A communal braai lapa and fire pit are located just outside that guests can enjoy.

Game drives & Self-drives
(subject to availability)
View our wild antelope, be shown medicinal plants and taught about the Tankwa Karoo's history and significance as an ecosystem.
Booking upon prior arrangement. Drives take 2 – 3 hours as the reserve is large (8500 ha). R200 pp in a group or R350 per single person. If your vehicle allows you can do a self-drive on the reserve. Just be mindful of the plants and keep in the designated pathways.

Night drives
(subject to availability)
See the Karoo in a different light – or no light, but that of the moon and stars.
Night drives typically last about 1 hour and can offer up surprising animal sightings like the African grey cat, owls, aardvark, porcupines and even Elephant trunk mice! Booking upon prior arrangement.
R 200 pp in a group or
R 350 per single person.

Nature & Guided walks
(subject to availability)
Spend some time alone in the veld and you might spot some interesting plants and animals. You can also book a guided walk for your group at R100 pp (groups of 10 or more only) and take a 1 to 2 hour walk with one of the staff who will tell you a bit more about the interesting fauna and flora of the Tankwa Karoo.
Look at plants, tracks, ecological niches and open your eyes to the beauty of this landscape.

Clay pigeon shooting & Shooting range
We can arrange a clay pigeon shooting activity for a group booking. Our shooting range is also available for hunters.
Our PH can facilitate the shooting of weapons and also teach gun safety. Contact for more information.

Riverbed braai or
Picnic
Pack in your grill, some beer, a Boerewors roll or two and have a braai in a dry riverbed.
Better yet, pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it!

Group & Team-building
Actvities
Clay pigeon shooting, obstacle course and guided walks can all be
incorporated in a group getaway for
fun activities in the Karoo.
We do corporate getaways, team-building, school camps, bachelors, etc. Prices on request.
